1. What Perspect Does

Perspect is a Chrome extension that analyzes web pages using AI to generate synthetic user personas. Users can chat with these personas to get feedback on web pages from diverse perspectives.

2. Data We Collect

When you use Perspect, the following data is processed:

• Account information: Email address and display name provided during sign-up (via Google OAuth or email/password).
• Page content: When you explicitly trigger an analysis, we extract visible text, headings, navigation links, CTAs, and a screenshot of the current page. This data is sent to our server for AI processing.
• Chat messages: Messages you send to synthetic users and the AI-generated responses.
• Authentication tokens: Stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage to keep you signed in.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect browsing history or track which sites you visit.
• We do not collect data from pages you have not explicitly chosen to analyze.
• We do not collect personal files, passwords, form inputs, or cookies from websites.
• We do not run in the background — the extension only activates when you open the side panel.

4. How We Use Your Data

• Page analysis: Page content and screenshots are sent to Anthropic's Claude API (via our Supabase backend) to generate synthetic user profiles. This data is not stored by Anthropic beyond the API request.
• Chat: Your messages and conversation history are stored in our database (Supabase) to provide persistent conversations.
• Authentication: Your email is used solely for account management and login.

5. Data Storage & Security

• All data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS) with Row Level Security (RLS) ensuring each user can only access their own data.
• All communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption.
• Authentication tokens are stored locally in chrome.storage and are never shared with third parties.

6. Third-Party Services

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data (workspaces, pages, conversations, synthetic users) is retained as long as your account is active. You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we store about you
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Stop using the extension at any time by uninstalling it

9. Children's Privacy

Perspect is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
